About Me

Purdey’s Paws is here to help you balance the everyday pleasure and demands of dog ownership by offering regular and occasional dog-walking services (subject to availability).I’m a lawyer by profession and I’ve spent the last 20 years living and working in Lewisham as co-director of our family architectural practice and previously as a local primary school governor.My Labrador Charlie and I have spent the last 14 happy years exploring the green spaces of Lewisham and Greenwich. We were joined by our Terrier-cross about 4 years ago.I set up Purdey’s Paws to offer a professional, friendly service doing something I love. I’m committed to providing a specialist service to a high standard. I’ve chosen not to use a van to transport dogs, for your security there is no signage on my vehicle. Unlike police dogs, your dog will probably not have had the training from a young age to cope with the experience of being caged in the back of a van with other dogs. Vans can be noisy with little, or no windows and dogs can be stuck for extended periods of time due to picking up and dropping off other clients, which can cause stress and anxiety. I prefer to walk 1-2-1, just as you would.I’ve chosen to be fully insured, certified by the National Association of Pet Sitters and Walkers, first aid trained and applied for a licence from the Royal Parks to allow me to walk dogs in Greenwich Park. About The Walks

• I come to you and collect your dog(s), at an agreed time, so that you don't have to be there when they are taken out for a walk. We walk in their local neighbourhood or park so that their surroundings stay familiar.
• I can transport your dogs to a park, allowing for more fun and exercise. I have chosen not to use dog vans or crates as I don't feel this fits in with the ethos here at Purdey’s Paws. I use the Sleepypod car harnesses, which incorporate award-winning, crash tested technology.
• Dogs will be walked on a lead initially but can be walked off lead if required - a disclaimer must be signed for his. This is a fully insured service.
• All dogs are walked on a one-to-one basis. This allows for more interaction and better observation of your dog(s) - after all you are hiring me, and I want to give you 100% of my attention.
• If there is more than one dog in the household provided they can safely be walked together there is a small £8.00 charge for the additional dog, per walk.
• I offer a flexible, daily or occasional service to suit your dog’s needs.
